Search returns 404

I’ve looked everywhere, tried everything. I cannot figure out the issue. Regardless of where I am on site, the search returns a 404. Site URL

What I’ve tried thus far:

I’ve saved permalinks to default (this works just fine). I’ve deactivated all plug-ins. I’ve tried looking into the searchform.php and htaccess.php. I’m using the Roots retlehs theme. I have not uninstalled the theme as I don’t want to lose any of my customization. Or is it safe to switch themes? and Have all your CSS and plugs-ins remain when you switch back?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I’ve been at this for quite sometime but can’t seem to find any viable solution. Except maybe to reinstall the theme? But I don’t want to loose any of the changes made to CSS/plug-ins and such.
