Search Posts Thumbnails

Hello wordpress community.
I am using twenty then theme
I need to know how I can make a thumbnail show next to my posts when I search through posts in both the search bar and through categories.
This may have been answered but I couldn’t find a previous thread mentioning this. If anyone knows of a plug-in or a work around I would really appreciate some help. thanks in advance..
