    Hello,

Recently we have been getting Search Console errors on breadcrumbs on our product pages (WooCommerce). One of the items is empty, for example:

    [{“@type”:”ListItem”,”position”:1,”name”:”Home”,”item”:”https://www.domain.com/”},{“@type”:”ListItem”,”position”:2,”name”:””},{“@type”:”ListItem”,”position”:3,”name”:”Product name”}]

I think this might be happening because we don’t have a shop page setup (we don’t use this WooCommerce functionality, our products are linked under their own main categories). Could this be fixed within Yoast, adding a check if an item is empty before adding it to the breadcrumbs?

Even better would be to add the categories to the breadcrumbs markup (based on the primary category).

    Hello 9degrees,

Thanks for reaching out regarding your breadcrumbs.

We do not think the issue is because you do not have a Shop page. The Yoast SEO breadcrumbs are created for WordPress. If you will like our breadcrumbs to work with WooCommerce, you need to install the Yoast SEO WooCommerce add-on. You can also check the Yoast developer portal if you require a custom solution
