Sorry, that’s not how it works. Malware can exist on a site regardless of whether https is used or not. You’ll have to remove the malware. Your host might be able to help with that.
sorry it was not malware in the end but a security warning for http instead of https urls
I did a search and replace using the sql export/import and it worked like a breeze. thank you
However there is one url in the db that I didnèt replace and when I did a search, I got this message ; Search pattern not found.

What exact string are you searching for? It should just be the http://xxxxxxx.com part, not the serialized data.
The string I posted above was in the report generated by Search and Replace.
I reran it this a.m. and that string did not come up…
wondering what that was all about
