• Hi. I recently moved my main blog over to WP. Some of my readers have remarked to me that the main page now scrolls really slow. I checked it and they are right. I never noticed it as much I think because I use a web wheel mouse for the most part instaed of the scroll arrows on my browser. When using the scroll hours, the page moves both up and down really really really slow. Anyone know what might cause this and possibly how to fix it? I checked the separate archives page and it doesn’t have the problem. Just seems to be the main posts page.

  • I see no problems at all.
You could reduce the numbers of posts ?

Using Firefox your site scrolls fine with my wheel mouse. BUT in IE 6 it’s bizarre … moves MORE than slowly, it’s positively ghostly and jello-like in slowwwww-motion.
Must be an IE thang. I’ve never seen that before anywhere else either.
Just tested it in the two browsers, didn’t look at any of your code though.

Two things I would check – the fact your menu is not correctly laid out (check the validation) and sometimes javascripts can cause this issue (might remove them temporarily to check it out).

Ah.. I just tried IE, and yes, it’s like treacle on a frosty day.
All your code looks fairly standard to wp, even the counters, except for the BlogLynx. Have you tried removing that and seeing what’s what ?

“treacle on a frosty day” ? hmm, have to think about that one for awhile 😉

I can’t figure this one out. I use MacOS X and Firefox as primary browser. Funny thing is the slow scrolling for me happens on Firefox but not when I tried it on IE. I did try taking out the ‘bloglynx’ drop down menu but it had not effect.
