As HTTP 200 is “OK”, I wouldn’t necessarily expect the 404 failure later as there’s a positive response coming back from the server here. Can you do the following steps so we can slow the scan down and get to the bottom of the issue?
- Kill any existing scans if it is still running (The “Start New Scan” button turns in to a “Stop” button while the scan is running)
- Go to your Scan > Scan Options and Scheduling page and locate the “Performance Options”
- Set “Maximum execution time for each scan stage” to 20 on the options page
- Click to “Save Changes”
- Go to the Tools > Diagnostics page
- In the “Debugging Options” section check the circle “Enable debugging mode”
- Click to “Save Changes”.
- Start a new scan
- Copy the latest 20 lines from the log (click the “Show Log” link) or so of the activity log and paste them in the post.
If this fixes the issue and scans are running again, you can leave all the settings above except for “Enable Debugging Mode”.
Thanks,
Peter.
Hi @wfpeter,
I already did base on the same reply on another ticket, then I post the above details after that.
what else should I do.
Hi @mkaem, okay no problem, I wasn’t sure if you’d already tried to slow the scan in case your host’s outbound connection limit was an issue.
Can you send your full diagnostic report to wftest @ wordfence . com? You can find the link to do so at the top of the Wordfence Tools > Diagnostics page. Then click on “Send Report by Email”. Please add your forum username where indicated and respond here after you have sent it.
Note: For the fastest response time, please make sure and add any information or questions directly to this topic and not the email address above unless asked.
Thanks,
Peter.
hi @wfpeter I have same issue. I also sent you Diagnostic Report on the mentioned email. can you please check and let us know whats wrong?
@mharslan, as per the Forum Guidelines, please can you open a new topic to highlight your version of the issue? Please mention that you have already spoken with @wfpeter and I’ll be happy to pick up with you. It’s just in case your issue has a different cause, it will help us focus on helping you specifically.
Hi @mkaem,
I believe your version of the plugin may have been installed from outside of the wordpress.org repository (perhaps with an externally purchased theme package, or set up by another web developer on your behalf?) and needs to be reinstalled.
Firstly, feel free to export your current settings: https://www.wordfence.com/help/tools/import-export/
Then, please go to the Wordfence Dashboard > Global Options page and look in the General Wordfence Options section. Look at the bottom of the section for “Delete Wordfence tables and data on deactivation” and check the box.
Save the changes on that page and then go to the Wordfence > Login Security > Settings page. At the bottom of the page check the box next to “Delete Login Security tables and data on deactivation” and save the changes.
Next, go to the Firewall > Manage WAF page and click the button that says “Remove Extended Protection. This should take a little while to finish”. If you do not see that button but see one that says “Optimize Firewall”, you can move on. On your WordPress Plugins page, deactivate Wordfence and then delete it.
Once you’ve done this please install a fresh copy of Wordfence from WordPress > Plugins > Add New
