I am thinking about installing this plugin but before I do I have to check where the optimized/converted files are saved.

Reason is that I am using Media Library Folders For WordPress plugin to organize my media into different folders and I would like to keep them in those folders even after bulk conversion.

    So my questions are:

    1. Will the new files be saved in the same place as original files or in some new folder?
    2. Is EWWW Image Optimizer compatible with Media Library Folders For WordPress?
    3. Will I be able to upload new file through Media Library Folders For WordPress and still have them automatically converted into webp?

    Thank you.

PS My media files are in sub-folders of upload folder.

    1. The new files overwrite the old ones, EWWW IO doesn’t ever move them.
    2. Yes it should be, though it’s been a while since I’ve personally tested it, we have lots of folks using them together.
    3. To my knowledge, uploads through Media Library Folders still trigger all the normal hooks, so yes.
