@charles: I just wanted to follow up and confirm that this was resolved for you in 2.0.7. The fix there resolved this for most users who saw this error. We had two users who were still seeing it in 2.0.7, and we’ve added a fix for that separate cause in our latest informal release, which you can download here:

If you are still seeing it in the latest version, please definitely submit a bug report. If you can provide login credentials (WP and possibly FTP), that would help us resolve it.

I have just installed NextGen 2.0.7 on TwentyEleven latest WP version.
I can’t upload any pictures, get the same message when trying to add pictures/gallery;
RunTimeException shown

@cesbloggan: There have been just a couple users with this in 2.0.7. We’ve introduce a fix for those cases in our latest informal release which you can download here:

It will also be in the next official release (accessible through your WP dashboard) probably next Monday or so.

Something didn’t work together with JQuery Lightbox but since I changed to WP JQuery Lightbox it worls like a charm.
