RSS Error

Getting this error when trying to subscribe after adding RSS url feed to code:
```
XML Parsing Error: XML or text declaration not at start of entity
Location: http://sajesticdesigns.com/blog/?feed=rss2
Line Number 2, Column 1:<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
```
I’m guessing there is something missing in the code? I tried adding a feed tag into the sidebar template but I still get the same error.

Any help on this would be much appreciated and please do in simple non techy terms. I should also note, I have not had a feed at all and I am trying to add it in. I have never used one before.

Odd that search didn’t turn anything up on this one as it is a fairly common mistake that folks make.

Somewhere in a .php file you have an extra space or line before the first <?php or after the last ?> in the file.
Start by checking your wp-config.php and any files you might have recently edited.

Hi HandySolo,

After numerous attempts of trial and error, I finally found the problem within the plugins folder. The blank space was in the permalinks php file! The dreaded blank line curse has be solved!

Please try this plugin fix-rss-feed, it will fix your rss error automatically, and you can get more information from http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/fix-rss-feed/, and you also can get help from the author website http://www.flyaga.info/en/wordpress/plugins/fix-rss-feed-error-wordpress-plugins.htm

I’m having a similar problem. Anybody know how to fix this? This link shows exactly where the error is, but I don’t know how to remedy it.

jab2009: Free web hosts often insert tracking code like this or ads into all web files, and this will mess up WordPress.

I am having an issue with an ampersand, and I belive the plugin will not help.

the blog feed url is:
http://www.princetoncapitalllc.com/business-opportunity-business-brokers-M&A-blog/feed/

I ran it through the feed validator, and the source has errors. The interesting thing is formats the link to the blog correctly:

but not the url for the actual post:

Therefore it blows up when it hits the ampersand in the actual blog link url, but it gets through the blog title url.

Is there a way for me to fix this by applying the formatting that it does for the blog title URL to the blog comment URL?

I can’t seem to keep it from reformatting – the first has the code for the ampersand, the second link has the actual ampersand.
