Revert to previous WP installation

    The main issue I have is that there is no usable short link in this version, as there were in previous versions. I use the link when I am posting on FB, and that is no longer available.
    Can I revert to a previous version 4.3.1? I have the download of that and I would like to reinstall. How can I do that easily? Thanks for any advice.

    The short link box was removed from 4.4 because it is redundant and unnecessary. The normal long link works just fine on all services like Facebook and Twitter, and most of them have their own shortening tools which work automatically. Having a second redirect for no good reason made no real sense.

    However, if you are using a plugin that customizes the built in short links in any way, then the short link box will magically reappear.
