I’d really like an answer to this question.
I’m thinking about switching to pro but paying €35 a year just to remove the slug of the second language seems excessive, even more if I’m not sure this will actually fix my problem (problem: Because of the slug “nl_NL” in my url the portfolio images don’t load when switched to Dutch).

We visited your site and found that your problem could be related to the jQuery FlexSlider in your theme. Unfortunately, due to the fact that your theme isn’t available for free downloading, we couldn’t get any additional tests.
Please provide the access credentials to your WordPress admin dashboard (with Administrator’s permissions) and the FTP credentials (host, username, and password), in order to detect the reason and find the solution.
