It sounds like you must be using an alpha build of WordPress v1.6. Unfortunately, the alpha builds are not supported here. You will have to ask the tester’s mailing list for support.
Safari also does not show the toolbar for adding html code to your post. I use Firefox for working on my blog. It is a little annoying if you are primarily using Safari but it is an easy solution.
Freechris, there is no such warning in WP v1.5.2. I use Safari all of the time and have never run into such a message. Perhaps it is a plugin that you have installed, or a third-party admin interface theme.
No probs with Safari here, not even with the Tiger interface theme.
freechris – What version of safari are you running? And what exactly is the message you are getting?
I looked through the code and there is nothing in WP which would trigger a message – everything disabled for Safari (quicktags) does so silently. I suspect, as was mentioned previously, this is related to an activated plugin.
On the slight chance it is theme related, does it occur when using the default theme?
