remove ability to comment
-
How do I remove the ability to have anyone commoent on my site.

To disable comments on future Pages/Posts, uncheck “Allow people to post comments on new articles” in Settings -> Discussion. Then edit each published Page or Post and uncheck “Allow comments” in each case. If you do not see this pane, click Screen Options at the very top of the page and check “Discussion”.
Does this not effect pages already made?
The first part only affects future pages and posts. That’s why you have to edit each existing post or page.
In looking at my current pages I do not see anywhere I can uncheck “Allow comments”

MY goal is to disable the ability for anyone to leave a comment or reply. The comments and discussion boxes are unchecked. But on the actual page you can still comment.
Please read my original post properly.
I have done all that.
Can anyone else help me
Rather than just bumping your thread you should provide more information about your environment
http://codex.wordpress.org/Forum_Welcome#Include_as_much_information_as_possibleThe answers Esmi gave were pretty good knowing nothing about your setup
There is nothing to tell. These are typical pages. I have done all that Esmi has said to do but the ability to comment remains.
So it sounds like an issue with either your theme or one of the plugins that has produced the comments, can you list those to us?
Themes:
wp-78 which is the active oneplugins:
1. Amen
2. BibleGateway VOTD
3. Church Pack
4. Go Daddy Quick Setup
5. GraceMedia Videos
6. Limit Login Attempts
7. Responsive Select Menu
8. Sermon Manager for WordPress
9. Spiritual Gifts Survey (and optional S.H.A.P.E survey)
10. TruthI have also deactivated all the plugins
