reinstall not working properly

I reinstalled Word Press so that it was not in its own “Word Press” folder. But now it looks awful. Photos are missing and the link to the homepage trys to go to the /wordpress folder which is now gone. When I tried to install I got a message saying “You appear to have already installed WordPress. To reinstall please clear your old database tables first.”

Can you help?
