    Hi, John Godley!

Can you please add a function/field so we can set a redirection to open the link redirected url into a new tab/window?

I mean it will be good if we are able to set the redirected (Targeted) URL as target=_”blank”

    Regards,

The Redirection support page has this:

Can I open a redirect in a new tab?

It’s not possible to do this on the server. Instead you will need to add target=”blank” to your link.

    Thanks for your reply john!
Can you please explain that how to add target=”_blank” in the url using your Redirection Plugin?

for example if I want my website page “http://www.website.com/newpage to redirect to Google.com in new tab/window then how to put using target=”_blank”

    thank you in advance.

Use the WordPress post editor and add target=”_blank” directly to the links you want to open in a new tab. It’s not possible to do this with a redirect, whether using Redirection or anything else.

    okay John!

    Thanks for your response.

    Best of Luck.

    regards,

Hi Rayan, I would like to implement the taget=”_blank” to my redirects too, did you find a way? If so, could you please share?

I can’t find a way of integrating it to the link as described above.

    Thanks!

@anaimation, as mentioned above it’s not technically possible. You need to put target="_blank" on your links, you cannot implement it on the server via a redirection (either via Redirection or any software)

Yes, and even we are not able to do it via .htaccess

by the way, I am a web developer, let me know if you need any help. I will help you.
