    Hi,

i installed the plugin on a network-wordpress-installation and got redirect loop direct after installation and activtion. i cannot use wordpress-backend anymore until i moved the plugin-directory away.

The browsers wants to load “/wp-admin/network/admin.php?page=wsal-auditlog” but ends in a loop.

    Why does i happen?

    Wordpress 5.2.3
    PHP 7.2
    Hosting on Apache

Sorry to hear you’re encountering such a problem @viosys

Upon activating the plugin on a multisite network you are redirected to the audit log viewer on the network dashboard.

So can you please confirm if you have super admin access on the network?

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

Yes, i have super admin access on the network.

I checked this today in a dev-web where it also does not work yesterday. Today it works there. But in the live-web (identical project-data, identical plugins, identical access right, only other domains) i does not work to my surprise. Both webs are on same server, only different vhosts. Only change were some debian-updates yesterday after posting here.

In error.log is no entry for this problem.

Can you please try logging out and logging back in to the Network dashboard and accessing the plugin menu? This usually does the trick @viosys

Unfortunately, this did not lead to any success. Since I don’t have a logout button in this moment, I deleted all cookies from the website in my browser. If I then login normally it comes again to an endless loop. It only helps to delete the plugin directory.

Thank you for your response @viosys

Consisting the plugin works on the staging website, there is certainly something different between the staging and live website.

Can you please check again what could possibly be different? Maybe you have some plugins that deal with users sessions that have different settings?

Also, please check the server. Are the staging and live on the same web server / web host or different setup? You said ghosts are different do I’m presuming they are running on different servers. If so, can you compare / check the web server config and see if you can spot something different?

Looking for to hearing back from you.

@robert681 I also have this same challenge. I just installed WP Security Audit Log in our woocommerce site, after which we don’t have access to wordpress admin backend any longer.
I tried renaming the plugin folder from cpanel, and it totally denied me access this time. Please what can I do?

    Thanks

    Hello @godonclick

your problem is something different. The problem in this ticket is related to multisite networks. Please open a new forum post for your problems (although if I am not mistaking we are already assisting you via email).

    Thanks for your reply @robert681

Staging and live are separate vhost on same server. I compared the settings (Apache, php, mysql) – they are identical.

All settings in staging are identical to the live-web except the url.

One difference exists: the staging use a not valid SSL-certificate.

    But i found a solution:
we use W3 Total Cache. I disabled this plugin in the live-web and installed WP Security Audit Log – now it works. After that i enabled the cache plugin again and it work together.
i think it might have something to do with the fact that we set up the cache identically in staging, but it wasn’t as complete there as in the live-web.

    Thanks for your help πŸ™‚

Glad you have solved the issue @viosys

I’ll keep a note about the caching, since yes, it might create some issues sometimes because of the redirect to the admin dashboard.

Thank you for updating the ticket. Should you have any further questions please do not hesitate to ask.

Since you are using our plugin, can you please spare a minute to rate it? We really appreciate the reviews.

    Have a great day.
