Receiving a "fatal error" when activating plugin

    I was just told the following from my server admin:

    That function no longer exists in PHP 5.4 which our servers are running. It’s something that the plugin developer will need to correct before the plugin can work on our systems.

    Fatal error while installing plugins

    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_NEW in /hermes/bosweb/web199/b1997/sl.sheilahoyt/public_html/ARISTA-ARTS/wp-content/plugins/gallery-plugin/gallery-plugin.php on line 1202

    I am using version 3.1.4 – I did manage to install a few plugins, but now cannont install any plugins

    I have also tried nextgen gallery plugin – it also gets the same Fatal error message.

    I have always worked in Dreamweaver or Frontpage, WordPress is wonderful, but it is a steep learning curve. I have only been using it for a week. Thanks
