I have the same problem. I know the developers want to remove reCaptcha, and I also know that the honeypot strategy helps. But I think if they allow the widget to present, it is supposed to work.
I gave up on this plugin. I am now using WPForms and it’s the best thing ever!
Hi Not working for me either
I did a test
1) cloned the form with reCaptcha
2) removed reCaptcha field
3) Form works
with recaptcha no mail is sent whether you prove you are a robot or not
So if you properly configure with secret / normal key the form saves entry but does not send it to user
If you remove recaptcha the form will send to user
I don’t know tydormi posted – its a great plugin I guess he like Trolling ignore him
The reCaptcha field is discontinued beacuse it is not needed and is bad for conversions. It will be marked as such in 1.3.6.
We didn’t just take it out beacuse we don’t want to mess with form layouts in existing forms.
If anyone is having problems with spam when using our default anti-spam, I’d like to know. But I’ve never had anyone complain about spam from our forms when used with just the default anti-spam. I obviously use Caldera Forms a lot, across all of the sites I manage, I’ve gotten maybe 3 spam submissions so far this year, I’ll take that over the negative effects on conversions and page load times of using a Captcha.
The reCaptcha element now is no longer used in any update of CalderaWP, but if you insist to using reCaptcha, you can used CF V1.3.3.2 by rolling back to it from your current version with the help of WP Rollback Plugins By WordImpress. After install & activate WP Rollback try to roll back to v.1.3.3.2 (from the Plugin Admin Page>> hit Rollback). But the invisible field Honeypot it self is enough to stop non human spam / spambot. Go to General Settings and enable the Honeypot field from there.
Hope that help, tq
