• I have a VPS server, but my sites keep going down because of RAM memory. I have increased the size of the account but nothing seems to help. I am only using 1% bandwidth and 27% of disk space at the moment. My problem is the RAM. I have to literally reboot my server 3 or 4 times a day, sometimes more.

The hosting company indicates I have to get rid of “startup scripts” but I am not sure what they are…any suggestions on how I can curve this RAM problem?

  • Please post the exact error code .
How many plugins have you installed ???
Have you manually edited / configured your functions.php file ????
Is your WordPress installation the latest release (v3.2.1) ???
What is the enabled theme ??

See these VPS tweaks if that would help you. Also, try to reduce number of plugins. Keep only what are really required. Also optimize any Google-XML sitemap plugin or Global translator plugin if you are using. Sometimes, those sort of plugins might cause RAM problem. Also check your server logs for more details. If you can post more details about the error here, that would be helpful.

You may also need to apply some caching (server side and WP side) to even things out.
