"Quick Cache" Plugin Running Time

I use the Quick Cache plugin to speed up my site. I have all the default settings still in place, and it has been working fine for me. The most recent attempt for me to clear my cache seems to be taking forever though. If I click the “clear cache” button in the admin bar from my dashboard, it works fine and quickly. If immediately after I click the “clear cache” button in the admin bar from my site homepage, it runs and run and runs. Is this normal? I am having some issues with my server as well, and it was recommended I clear my browser cache, which I have also done. Any suggestions as to why it would take so long from my homepage?
