    Hello.

I am running 4.0 and using cPanel. ( i’m not super technical, but can follow instructions. 8-).

Is this possible…. under my current setup?

The situation is. I would like to run 5 wordpress standalone installs on the same hosting. ideally each install will have it’s own folder of files. The reason for this is that I am splitting my main brand into small sites.

Currently http://www.drink.com – has beer, wine, tea, water, coffee and would need to be split as below.

    http://www.beer.com
    http://www.wines.com
    http://www.tea.com
    http://www.coffee.com
    http://www.water.com

Each install will need it’s own domain name and it’s own URLs and paths.

    – hence multisite – I could only get it going under a subdomain. e.g. ( wines.drinks.com, beer.drinks.com, etc) unless I am missing something on multisite ( ideal world everything under one big multisite.)

The trouble is once I got an install the one-click would like a folder to the install to go into. I have tried the tutorial by moving the index.php and adding in the new path. But how would index.php be if there’s 5 installs.

Any suggestion without looking for 5 separate hosting?

    Thanks
    Keane

  • There is no need to look for 5 different hosting. You just need to add all 5 domains to your 1 hosting account. Once you do that you should be given directories within FTP to each of those domains as separate directories. All you would need to do once you have those is install WordPress into each of them and you should have 5 separate WordPress Installs on 5 different domains.

Thank you for your quick reply.

I have now able to sort this after a quick chat with my hosting company.

    cPanel/Domains/Addon Domains/

Just ensure the domain is not parked or redirected ( under same submenu in Domains )

    Cheers
