• WHAT I HAVE DONE

I have a hosting account at example.com and have installed sub domain multisite WP at the root of that domain as follows:

    example.com/news
    example.com/socials

I’ve registered example.org and will like to map as follows:

    example.com/news map to example.org/news
    example.com/socials map to example.org/socials

I’ve parked example.org to point to example.com on my hosting account and have also installed http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-mu-domain-mapping/.

    The problem
I could not use domain mapping to point example.com/news to example.org/news. It seems that I can only point example.com/news map to example.org. Any idea how I could achieve the mapping?

What I want to do in future
In my hosting account at example.com, I’ll like to have:
    1. sites about my non-for-profit offerings that all point to my .org domain; e.g. example.org/news, example.org/socials

    2. sites about my for-profit offerings that all point to my example.com, example.com/

What’s the recommended approach to implement a multisite?
Should I install two different multisite on the hosting account? E.g. one pointing to example-org directory and another pointing to example-business?

I’ve registered example.org and will like to map as follows:

    example.com/news map to example.org/news
    example.com/socials map to example.org/socials

That isn’t how domain mapping works.

You can map examplenews.com to example.org/news but that’s about it.

You’d probably be better off making example.com/org and map example.ORG to that. Then use a multinetwork plugin to make subsites.
