We have been using this plugin for a couple of months with inconsistent results. We have it configured that WooCommerce is the master record for items. Each week, we set up a handful of new items in Woo and Synch Them with Square. This have worked fine and after a brief period, the item info is available in Square (retail).

I then receive stock at Square which increases the quantity. Most of the time, this info is passed on after a period to WooCommerce where the quantity is updated on the website, but not always. I am finding that occasionally, even after 24 hours, the quantities have not updated on the webite. If I go into the item in Woo and hit “Fetch Qty from Square”, it immediately increases the quantity, so the item seems to be properly linked. Why is this data not being consistently passed? I have had an issue with an item selling on the website through Woo and the quantity not changing in Square, but this seems less frequent.

Any help would be greatly apprecoated.

    Hey there @trevortoppen,

The WooCommerce Square extension is supposed to be pulling inventory from Square every 60 minutes. This will update the counts in your individual product pages so they’re accurate. You’ll still see the button “Fetch Qty from Square” before you can update the quantity in WooCommerce; this is a check to make sure any quantity changes in the last 60 minutes are refreshed so that the site has accurate inventory data before making changes.

When the WooCommerce site doesn’t fetch the inventory counts automatically from Square, that can indicate a problem with the site’s cron, or its ability to run scheduled tasks.

One way to check this is to head to WooCommerce > Status > Scheduled Actions > Pending and check if there are pending actions with a past date. If so, we recommend reaching out to the hosting support team to help verify cron is running as expected on the site.

If that’s inconclusive or doesn’t solve it, please share the site’s System Status Report with us here. You can find it by going to your admin Dashboard and selecting WooCommerce > Status.

From there, select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, you can paste it here. Feel free to edit out any personally identifying information, such as the site URL.

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.
