• What I want to do: Anything that isn’t displayed on the front page (i.e. the last 5 entries or so) I want to have user-protected (made so that only registered people can view them)

Is there a way to do this (does a plugin already exist)? Or should I take the time to make one myself. Anyone interested/have pointers?

I know my way around php well enough but it would take me a while to learn how wordpress does everything. Hopefully something exists already.

  • Just out of curiousity: what would be the point in hiding older posts from a random visitor? I, personally, would never register on a blog just to see a post.

i don’t really know what the point would be. someone mentioned it to me as an idea before so i was seeing if there was interest for it

You could set your posts to be password protected after a given age, useful for specific reasons, but I’m curious as to what it is you’re trying to do. Is there a purpose to protecting your old posts? You coudl set them to disable commenting after x days/months so that the post remains available for viewing just not commenting. It might be a plugin I forget…old age etc
