Problems with updating..

    Hi guys!

    Im having some trouble with doing litterly anything. My website is running for several years now but since a month I can’t change it. I always get to some notification: Are you sure you want to do this? Try again ( which is a link and brings me back to where I was )

    If I want to update my theme it will cost me all my content on my website. Is there any solution or option to undo this? I really need to update it…

    On a WordPress site, content and appearance are separate, so a theme can be updated without affecting content.

    If theme files have been edited directly, which is not recommended practice, you would lose those customisations by updating. Appearance would suffer but content would be safe.

    Always best to take a backup first though.

    If you have a child theme, you should not be affected by an update. And as Lorro says, make sure you back it up before attempting this.
