Problems with 1and1.com and XMLRPC.PHP

Recently I’ve begun having problems with XMLRPC.PHP and 1and1.com. The problem seems to be with the getCategories() routine in XMLRPC.PHP, but I’m not a programmer, so I can’t be 100% sure. Basically, all of the rest of WordPress is working, but when I use tools that allow me to post blogs (which all utilize XMLRPC.PHP), they are unable to connect. They seem to be getting a “Page Not Found” type of error message. This is happening on my 1.5.1.3 and 1.5.2 blogs. It only began happening around the middle of October.

I read somewhere else that this seems to be a recent problem with 1and1.com. I’m wondering if they changed some global PHP setting that is causing this problem?

Sorry, this is vague, but I can’t get my mitts on any logs that can tell me exactly what’s happening.

Any idears?
