Problem with Widget on Sidebar

First off I am not sure what version, I am the end user, I had a web designer set this up for me. My question is I mistakenly added text to a Widget on the right hand column of my website. When I discovered what I did, I deleted the text but not the code that details the Widget Heading and pressed Save. I have done this numerous times, cleared my cache (as someone told me to do) but nothing helps, I can not get the text out of the box. My designer says it does not show on her computer but I have had 4 other people look at my site and it is still on the homepage. What can I do to delete the text? I would appreciate any help, I am desparate.
