What WP version are you on? What theme are you using? To get 5 latest posts, did you hardcode query to template or did you use a widget? Did you run settings > permalinks?

Hi!
I am using wordpress 2.9.2
The them i bought in remplate monster http://www.arxain.com, you can take a look if you can.
I made a query with a condition to post the post that i want only in the homepage, so it i did it in the index page, the home page of the site.
I run permalinks.

Where exactly in the front page template did you add the query?
And what query did you use when you tried to show the 5 latest posts?
