I had been using WordPress running on opensuse 10.2 for a while. Unfortunately, some of my db tables became corrupt and I just went ahead with a reload of linux instead of trying to repair the database and tables.
I chose to upgrade and download opensuse 10.3. I used Yast to install PHP5, just like I did with previous versions of Suse, but when I get to the step during the WordPress installation where you need to go to: … wordpress/wp-admin/install.php, it prompts me to open or save the file instead of executing the code.

I’m assuming that this is an issue with php not installed properly or not running on my linux box but it does show up as installed in the software manager in Yast.

Like I said, I followed the same procedure on previous versions of suse and never had any issues. Could this be a problem with PHP5 and if so, should I try to install an earlier version of php?

Thanks in advance for your help!

    VW
