Problem with 3.0.16 !

    Hi,
    First of all, i wish you all a happy new year….
    but for me, it seems not to be a happy beginning…. 🙁

    I’ve upgraded today from version 3.0.15 to 3.0.16 and then…. nothing, nada, rien, niente, nichts…..

    When i go to my homepage, i have a complet blank page now !??? Even in the WP Dashboard, it seems different because i do not see anymore the section “cusomizr it” in the top menu !???… and i can nombre enter in the customisation dashboard….

    Could anyone help me because i’m a dummy ….

    The version is now 3.1.6 so let’s get that right first 😉

    My usual advice to start with this kind of problem is to go to the root directory on the host server, look for the file .htaccess and then rename it (eg .htaccess.old). That ensures you can get back to the old one if you need to. Now without a current .htaccess, WP will create a new one. And at the same time, your site should work OK.

    Thanks for your anwser redellconsulting,

    As you write, i’ve found the file .htaccess in the root directory and renammed it to “.htaccess.old”.
    But i don’t now how,as you write “…WP will create a new one”
    I try to look on the net … but i found only commentary about complex setting of this file, that i don’t want… i want only, at this stage, a new access to my homepage.
    I don’t want make further mistakes.

    Sorry Patrick, after renaming the file, WP will create a new one behind the scenes when you login as Admin – you don’t need to do anything.

    Sorry redellconsulting… you’re right !!!!
    I have effectively a new .htaccess file in my root directory (it’s an invisible file…then i choose “see invisible file” in Cyberduck app…. and i saw it)

    But unfortunately , this didn’t résolve the problem…. i have the same symptoms…

    I have also tried:
    1) diable all my plugins -> it didn’t work
    2) settings permlinks on défault and then new on custom -> it didn’t work

    Can you switch to a different Theme (eg twentyfourteen) and see if anything works. If not, then it would seem that your WP install has been corrupted.

    Do you have any backup you could restore? Can your hosting provider help?

    I have switch to the theme TWENTYTEN …and it work ! Isn’t it great ? 😉
    What should i do ? Delete the latest version of customizr and réinstall ?
    Downgrade to an earlier version ?

    my luck is that i was falling on you and your expert advices.
    My site work again. THANK YOU VERY MUCH…REALLY !! 🙂
    I think that the problem comes from the uploadof the last version…it must have been incomplete for any reasons. Moreover the size of the deleted customizr folder was smaller that the one i have uploaded again.

    One more question: i lost the widgets of the sidebars and the content of my footer…nothing important, i can rebuild this relatively quickly.
    However, would you have a tip for that ?…. the last…. 😉

    Great work!

    I’d suggest you rebuild if it’s not too difficult. That way, you’ll avoid any corruptions from the old build.
