• On my website http://www.jambandnews.net I am receiving the following error message when I try to upload an image through the WordPress admin

“lenka_2011.jpg” has failed to upload due to an error
The uploaded file could not be moved to D:\Hosting\7103264\html/wp-content/uploads/2011/04.

The site has been running since Dec 2010 with no problems and just yesterday this problem started. It happens with every image that I try to upload

  • Sounds like a permission issue. If truly nothing has changed in the WordPress setup, then likely a hosting issue.

Try changing the permissions for the uploads/2011/04 folder to 755 via the hosting company control panel.

There is an outside (i.e. not likely) you have exceeded the storage allotment for this hosting account.

I am having a similar problem and have changed permissions and unchecked the organize by date under settings> media.

The upload/insert buttons do not work when I am adding an image to a new post and I get this error message…when I try to upload through the media library…

“name.jpg” has failed to upload due to an error
The uploaded file could not be moved to /var/www/vhosts/mangocrash.com/httpdocs/blog/wp-content/uploads.

Any ideas would be so appreciated.
