Private Posts rating visibility issue

    Hi,

    I installed your wonderful star rating plugin to my site. I have only one problem with private posts. I’m using wordpress events manager plugin and buddypress plugin. My scenario is like this;

    1) I create a buddypress hidden group.
    2) I create a group event and it can be displayed as a post.
    3) When I view this private event as post view, I can put rating for this private event which is created by a buddypress hidden group.
    4) When I put a rating for this private event, rating will be displayed in sidebar widget and it can be seen non group members and logged out users.
    5) Since it is a private Event/Post, logged out users can’t read the content.

    But, my problem is,
    Is there a way to hide star rating ability to private posts/events?
    or
    Is there a way to hide private post rating from sidebar widget?

    I really love to this plugin, specially sidebar widget, Can you give me a possible solution for this, before go to the pro version of this plugin.?

    Category wise restriction or post id wise restriction is a little bit difficult to my scenario. Because any group member can put a private Event/post with any kind of categories and any number of Events/posts.

    Hi Chathuranga,

    This is a very interesting use-case. After thinking about it for sometime and sharing it with the rest of the team, unfortunately in order to really support it, it requires a lot of changes in the plugin and in our back-end. But, there’s a workaround for this that can be implemented. It requires additional investigation on our side so I’ve added it to our TODO’s. I can’t tell you when this would be ready or not because we have a LOT of prioritized commitments. But I’ll try to keep you posted.

    Hi Vovafeldman,

    Thank you very much for your time. Anyway we decided to use your plugin. Since this is an actively developing and forum supporting plugin. After discussing with my client we came to a conclusion that, for a moment this is not a very big issue, because content of private events can not be read by non group members. Thank you very much for your reply and wonderful plugin.
