I have the same issue for a nonprofit org I work with. I’m still n testing mode as I research this topic…..
I did decide to use a separate google calendar to track the private admin meetings. However the admin team wants to concurrently view the public events of the Tribe plugin. I exported the events from the tribe cal into a google cal so the admin staff can see everything on the google side but the calendar export is static, meaning if I later change events in the public tribe calendar, the google calendar will not automatically know of those updates. I’m wondering if there is a better way to have the admin google cal to display the up-to-date, always current, tribe public events.
Also, the reason I do not want to use the tribe cal for the private meetings functionality is I found if the public searches the website and that search text is in a private event, then the private event will display. I know there is a visibility setting for each event but my main worry is, I’m certain the admin staff would not consistently remember to mark this setting as they maintain the private calendar. I liked that the google calendar had privacy settings at the calendar level so those worries are taken care of. I’m not aware of this tribe cal haiving the ability to maintain multiple calendars with different privavcy setting per calendar so that’s why I went with the google cal option.
