I have one form set up to auto-update email subscribers, and when a previously unsubscribed ember tries to resubscribe, they get the error message “xxxx@xxxx.com is in a compliance state due to unsubscribe, bounce, or compliance review and cannot be subscribed.”

Can I customize this message somewhere in the plugin settings? I”m having trouble finding that setting and want to display a more helpful message to actual customers.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi @alexrenn,

This message is coming directly from MailChimp. The only way to change it in the plugin is to use the “General Error message” field under custom messages. However, this will suppress some of the normal error messages you might see that come from MailChimp. For example, if someone fills out a field incorrectly they would no longer see the Invalid MERGE Field... message, but instead see the message you’ve supplied in the “General Error Message” field.

    Does that make sense?

    Let me know,
    Kevin.

Haha. Thanks. I started with mailchimp and was told this was language from the plugin, but I suspected that was incorrect information.

    Thanks for confirming.
