• Hello Everyone,

I have been having some problems working out a bug with my permalink settings.

I am using a Ubuntu Linux server with a LAMP install. I have a number of wordpress websites on the machine. Some i started from scratch and some I ported from a different hosting service.

Here is a link to a similar discussion I was having on this topic.

The problem I am having is that the default permalink option is the only option that actually works. When I use a different option such as

    example.com/2010/11/10/sample-post/

The slug for the page and the URL address is set up correctly. However, the page does not display correctly. I get a 404 error message.

    Not Found

The requested URL /about-2/ was not found on this server.
    Apache/2.2.14 (Ubuntu) Server at example.com Port 80

Any idea why the permalink does not work on a linux machine?
