Posts running horizontally

Hi.. sorry for all the questions..
i want to have my blog run totally horizontally so when viewing all the posts in one category you scroll horizontally to view them. My lame attempt so far is here:

right now its a mess. Eventually i want just the categories to run horizontally beneath the header and the content to be about 500 px height. Any ideas on how to do this are much appreciated!
