I have a similar problem, except nothing is posted, I just get a 404 error. And that’s it. I’ve tried FTP’ing the wp-comment files over a few times, there’s no change.
Are you behind a firewall by any chance? – noticed that in my setup (it’s a new one day old installation) that when you post a comment wordpress seems to want to connect to the following site, sosocrates.scdns.net, lsof output attached:
TCP 172.16.10.1:35246->socrates.scdns.net:http (SYN_SENT
Since I’m behind a firewall the connection above never completes & times out – the timout (1 to 2 minutes delay) is causing the 404 error?
I’m a long time wordpress user. Starting just today, I am no longer able to get a comment posted to my site. What is going on?
Not just at work, but at home also. Not only that, but also from a remote desktop connection eight states away. Not even the tech support guy from readysetconnect.com could post a comment.
What’s going on here. I dare you to try posting a comment at http://www.ravenscraft.org. It just doesn’t work.
The only thing that does work is if I LOGIN as myself, then I can post a comment, but it still takes about a minute and a half.
But if I log out, NOTHING!!!!
Please tell me there is a fix for this!!!
I’ve started to get responses under two other support tickets… if you have suggestions, please leave a response under either of these support posts…
