Or it could be just your theme. If you can provide us a link we can take a look.
Try these steps:
– Using FTP or whatever file management tools your host has provided you with navigate to the wp-content/themes directory and make a backup copy of the theme1776 directory. Putting that copy on your PC or Mac should be a safe place for it.
– Once that’s done then delete the directory wp-content/themes/theme1776. Just that one theme1776 directory and nothing else.
– Now visit http://your-WordPress-URL-here/wp-admin/themes.php That should inform you that the old theme is gone and it will switch you to the Twenty Eleven theme.
If that works and you can now get into the backend then obtain a fresh copy of that theme and re-install it. Don’t use the backup copy you made, that one wont work.
Thank you so much for your reply. I managed to get access to the FTP and realized I was beyond my depth so I contacted the woman who set it all up for me. She corrected the issue.
Now I’m off to get up to speed with all I need to know in order to manage this site!!
