• Urgent help needed!

Have just set up a new wordpress blog, http://www.thefiskreport.com

I had done some work on the theme, and added 2 pages.

Yesterday, inexplicably, the site failed, would not load, and an error message appeared.

I contacted the hosts, who confirmed it was a problem they were dealing with.

Today, at last the site was back up again, but somehow, it is a version of the site from a few days back.

Logging in to the wp-admin page, I find that updates I’d done over the last few days are just not there.

Is there any way these could be retrieved? Most annoyingly, I have lost a whole page I’d written straight onto WordPress, without backing up. Also, various changes to the theme.

    Any urgent help appreciated.

    Nick

It sounds like whatever problem your hosting provider ran into required them to restore at least your site from an old backup.

I’d recommend contacting them for details and asking if they had a more recent backup.

Once you’re recovered (if it’s even possible), I recommend that you start keeping your own backups: http://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups
