POP3 connect error using wp-email.php
-
Hi All,
Recent convert from Drupal. Really am enjoying WordPress so far!Sadly I seem to have run into a connection problem using wp-email.php. There seems to be a few dead-end threads here discussing similar issues, so I was hoping to see if I can kick start figuring out my problem.
Basically, when running the script from the browser, I get the following error:
Ooops POP3 connect: Error [111] [Connection refused]
The box is my own, which is also where the mail server is located. I should not have any problems with pop3/imap in general (using qmail).
So far, I’ve tried the following with no luck:
1. Under the mail server setting, I’ve tried using the literal ‘domain.com’, ‘localhost’, and ‘127.0.0.1’.
2. Under port, I’ve tried both 110, and 995.
3. For login name I’ve tried just ‘username’, and ‘username@domain.com’.
4. And, default category is set. Also, I run both Illoha Mail, and Horde on my box so I can confirm other apps have no trouble sending/receiving mail.
One item of note. Since trying to switch the port to 995, then back, I no longer get the error but just a blank screen. Sadly, still not working!
I’m really desperate to get this working as my employer frowns on people spending work time to blog! 😉
Thanks All,
Geoffrey
