Polylang breaks Avada portfolio element

I am having a problem where Polylang breaks the portfolio element in Avada, both for portfolios I had already created before installation, and also for new ones created after. It leads to a 404 page, and the portfolios are completely unviewable. The problem I am having is essentially the same as the person who posted here – https://wordpress.org/support/topic/avada-portfolio-404/ . If I deactivate Polylang, the portfolio element works normally. Has anyone encountered this issue before and is there any known solution?
