Actually in wp-config you should have this line:
define ('WPLANG', 'pl_PL');
Notice, no .po extension!

What is the .po file (actually the only one you need) originally?
po_PL.po or pl_PL.po?
You have to have its exact name in the config file, without the .po extension.

You have to put in the /languages directory not the .PO file but the .MO file!

The above is the basic reading.
Based on that, supposedly
1. you downloaded the pl_PL.mo file from somewhere. (This would be the correct name for it, post back if it has a different name)
2. modified the wp-config.php file accordingly.
Just for the record: you do NOT need the pl_PL.po file for WP to work in another language.
I have a problem with Polish “mo”. It’s funny I upload the file to the server then i saw my date at the site changed into polish and in next 2 minutes it’s again in english….is is possible that this file is deleted by the word press or my server?…. strange, if anybody knew how to help me… please help…
hmmm is it possible to change .mo to txt or other extention.. because on my server this files are deleted automatically…
if there is anyone who had the same problem please give me a hint
