• I don’t know if all plugins fail to do this, most plugins doesn’t need to create any tables. So I assume this is a problem related to permissions. This isn’t a huge problem for me since I know some sql and how to add tables manually. But still it would be nice to know the answer.

  • If WordPress can create tables your plugin should be able to create tables too. They both run under the same permissions. There must be something wrong with your code.

Sure, something is wrong, but not my code:
Mailpress, NextGen Gallery and several others can’t create tables.

WP was installed from my hosts admin-pages, that could be the reason.

Possibly your host’s panel can create tables but WordPress can’t. That makes sense. It also would mean you have kinda crippled install. I think I’d contact my host.
