• Help! I’m a newbie with WordPress and so far I love what I see. I have followed the instructions for uploading plugins to the right directory, but nothing shows up in the Dashboard plugins other than the two that came with the original install.
I have read the documentation and the readme files, still nothing. I even discovered the need for the header (but the docs don’t say what file this should be on).
So, any ideas? I have tried 8 plugins and none of them show up.
    Thanks in advance.

  • The plugins are no in the dashboard plugin widget (I don’t know what that’s for, so I turned it off), but in the plugins section. See the right of your screen “plugins” and click there.

Thanks. I did check there and selected the “plugins” on the upper right. It still lists just the two that came with the initial install.

In that case you have uploaded them incorrectly. They should be in wp-content/plugins and also make sure you don’t “nest folder”, as in wp-content/plugins/pluginname/pluginname/pluginfiles.
