Hi, please see the message below from WordPress. Is it possible to update the plugin to be compatible with WordPress 5.2 and the latest PHP?

    Howdy!

Since WordPress 5.2 there is a built-in feature that detects when a plugin or theme causes a fatal error on your site, and notifies you with this automated email.

In this case, WordPress caught an error with one of your plugins, WooCommerce Extra Product Sorting Options.

First, visit your website (https://www.finngoods.com/) and check for any visible issues. Next, visit the page where the error was caught (https://www.finngoods.com/wp-admin/) and check for any visible issues.

Please contact your host for assistance with investigating this issue further.

If your site appears broken and you can’t access your dashboard normally, WordPress now has a special “recovery mode”. This lets you safely login to your dashboard and investigate further.

To keep your site safe, this link will expire in 1 day. Don’t worry about that, though: a new link will be emailed to you if the error occurs again after it expires.

When seeking help with this issue, you may be asked for some of the following information:
    WordPress version 5.4.2
Current theme: Jevelin Child (version 1.0.0)
Current plugin: WooCommerce Extra Product Sorting Options (version 2.8.4)
    PHP version 7.4.8

  • Hey @fredalewko ,

Thank you very much for reaching out to us. Happy to help with your question.

Our plugin has been tested and should be compatible with the latest versions of WordPress and PHP. I’ve been able to install and use it on a local site using WordPress 5.4.2 and PHP 7.4.6 which is a very close version. Based on the error you’ve shared in this topic, it seems that the E_ERROR was caused because the is_ajax() function isn’t defined.

This function is defined through WooCommerce, so would it possible to let me know what version of WooCommerce you’re currently running in your site? Another thing that you can try is uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin, since it’s also possible that this was caused due to a cache issue.

Would you please let me know if the issue persists whenever you have a chance to follow the instructions above? 🙂

    Looking forward to your response.

    Best regards,

    Pit
