  • I’m really sorry that happened. I had done a lot of testing before I released version 1.1, but there were still some users that experienced problems.

I’ve been responding to users as quickly as possible when they have a problem or a question, and I’ve made it a point to fix any errors as soon as I’m alerted to them.

I did release version 1.1.1 within 24 hours after the 1.1 release, which fixed the PHP errors that users had come to me with. Version 1.1.2, released just now, fixed the Javascript error that was breaking the plugin in certain browsers.

I am not sure if the plugin is working for me correctly. It shows the default location which I added in the settings but when I add alternate locations there does not seem to be a way to paste those into a page. For example, we have a real estate site, so different pages have different listings with different locations. Ideally, using the shortcode, I would have the locations added to the db and then add it using the shortcode with the location in the middle of an open and then close shortcode[] [/]

Please help because this seems like a very promising tool if we could get it to work like this.

    Thanks

The plugin really wasn’t designed for multiple maps with different locations. The programming just isn’t there in the plugin to make that kind of usage work.

I’m really sorry that SimpleMap doesn’t fit what you need, but there are a lot of other really great Google Maps plugins out there that can spit out a single-location map pretty easily.

I love the look and feel of the plugin. The only thing that it doesn’t work on my wordpress 8.4. Some things works AOK, the map shows up with the shortcode.

It had an error when I tried to back up the database and also when I tried to add Locations. Do I have to create a Database another database before setting up this plug in? The Back-up buttons are long gone and when I try to delete and install again… they just show my same info… like its caught in some sort of cache?

I would love to see this plugin working by far the best looking one for store locators that i’ve stumbled upon and would love to donate when it works.

I’m working diligently on the beta right now, to make it into a stable 1.2 release. The add locations/database backup problems are on my radar.

I recommend downloading version 1.1.5 (click on “Other Versions” in the sidebar of the download page) and trying to revert to that. You’ll have to go into your database and delete the two tables from the plugin (wp_simple_map and wp_simple_map_cats) before you install 1.1.5.
