    Hello,

Thanks for notifying me of this problem, I will look into it. I do not have a Mac or Linux, so I am not able to test out this problem.
What is the specific error? Does it just say “missing plugin” or is there something else as well? Can you provide a screenshot?

Also, check your Google Chrome Extensions. See if you have an extension called “Facebook Disconnect” or another similar plugin πŸ™‚

    here’s a screenshot
as you can see: no there’s nothing else. here’s the some html output if that helps:
    <object data="http://www.facebook.com/plugins/like.php?href=http%3A%2F%2Flocalhost%2F_MYPAGE_%2F%3Fp%3D85&layout=button_count&show_faces=false&width=78&action=like&colorscheme=light&font=arial"></object>

for some reason the like-image is displayed correctly if I put the data-content into a separate tab.

    and no, I don’t have any anti-fb-extensions πŸ˜€

I think I know what’s wrong. The page that you are trying to place the Like button on is local. Basically, it’s in “localhost”, not the web. Facebook probably cannot access the button if it’s not on the web.

The other buttons probably work because of the way they are coded. I assume you are only going to temporarily host your blog on localhost. It should work fine once it’s on the web and accessible from Facebook’s server.

If this still doesn’t work, then I’m clueless. It could be something wrong with Facebook’s new Like button, I’m not sure.

that sounds very logical! i am going online within a few weeks. Then i am going to repost here to tell you, but i am pretty sure that you’re right!

    thanks a lot!

Well, mine is very much public and chrome problem persists. I’ve verified it on multiple machines.

Vegan – what’s your URL? I’ll test it. Mind is http://www.triplepundit.com (like buttons on post pages)

it doesn’t work, indeed. as I said, my site is not online yet.

I think it could be because of certain HTML tags that the Chrome/Mac combination does not support. I will look into this and release a patched version by tomorrow.

Do any other buttons display the same error or is it just the Like button?

I think I fixed this problem in 2.1.3.5
Please try it out and see if it works, don’t forget to let me know!
