It’s very often a memory problem. Try to reduce the resolution for this image and test it again
It’s not working for me either.
When I select a single (or multiple) image(s), the interface returns a message “Watermark successfully added”.
The modification date/time of the image changes to the moment I selected to add the watermark.
But it doesn’t show.
It’s not a cache problem, because if I download the image through FTP and view it in Photoshop it doesn’t show the watermark.
I also ruled out permissions, I’ve changed it from 644, to 666 and 777. No change at all…
Memory I also don’t think so:
PHP Memory Limit : 40M
PHP Max Upload Size : 20M
PHP Max Post Size : 30M
Path to the watermark file is also valid.
/wp-content/gallery/watermark.png
And the watermark file it self as well.
Any idea’s what this could be?
It’s fixed.
For some reason I’ve had to change the path of the watermark from (/wp-content/gallery/watermark.png) to:
../wp-content/gallery/watermark.png
(adding the two .. in front of the path).
Weird…
I am having the same problem, I have only got one image uploaded at the moment just so I can learn everything and have set the watermark on the image, it tells me it has done it as above but there is no sign of the watermark, I also downloaded the image to check for it, but nothing there..
Can someone tell me, if you don’t mind, step by step, as if I was 3 years old what I need to do to get the watermark function to work.

I just discovered that if I want the watermark to appear in the images of a slideshow I needed to first set watermark on all the images then create new thumbnails on them. This solved the problem of watermarks not showing up in my slideshow.
I am also having a problem in that watermarks do not work. If I have the watermark type set to text, when I set the watermark on an image I get the 0% progress bar that never changes. If it is set to an image watermark, I get a watermark set successfully message, but the watermark does not appear.
I’ve read through all the other posts on watermark issues in NextGen, but none of them seem to have solved this problem. Any help would be much appreciated.

Please note that you need a png file as watermark….
I have a problem with this…
My watermarking was working fine. I de-activate the plugin, change theme, change theme back (with no changes to the original theme), re-activate plugin and now thumbnails don’t happen. It says ‘added’ when I do it, but they don’t get added… Latest version of WP and NGG…

Stupid me, I moved the watermark PNG and forgot to update the NGG options. Sorry!
I guess I’ll throw my hat in the ring to see if I can get this conversation started again. I too am trying to get the image watermark to work with no luck. The text watermark works just fine.
Thus far, I’ve made the .png image very small, I’ve uploaded it into the correct directory. I’ve selected ‘set watermark’ in the gallery and I’ve updated all my thumbnails after.
Any other suggestions? What am i missing?
