    I have 2 questions:

    1. In all pages, Google Teitel appears different from the one in all pages.
The definition in the plugin is:
title + page + separator + site title.

in fact: at serch in google, its like this:
title + page + separator + site title + Name of the HOME PAGE.
Noting that viewing the page itself in the browser, it looks fine.
This add-on is solely in Google search results – and I have no idea where it comes from. How to solve it?

    2. The site map has categories of the template. For example, categories, assets, etc.
I’d like to change each one’s name – can anyone explain how to do that?

    Thanks

  • Can you please provide us with an example URL of one of the pages where this is occurring so that we can review the source code and see whether the Yoast SEO plugin is outputting the title correctly?

Whereas Google typically uses the title from the metadata for indexing, this is not always the case. Google will sometimes modify the title of the URL as it sees fit, as well as sometimes adding the brand or sitename to the end of your title. This is not due to the plugin not functioning as expected, but rather is due to Google modifying the Title it indexes as it’s algorithm has concluded that there is a better version to index.

We also have additional information on this topic available at the following links: https://yoast.com/google-page-title/ and https://kb.yoast.com/kb/google-shows-different-titles-for-my-site/. Please refer to these articles as the include recommendations for crafting a page title which will help increase the likelihood that Google will use the title you specified instead of modifying your page’s title as it sees fit.

I checked the title output in the source code and confirmed that Google cached the preferred title. Google is not using the preferred title; instead opting to append text to the end of the preferred title.

The title you enter in our snippet preview is a suggestion for Google. If you’ve crafted awesome titles for your blog posts, nothing is more annoying than Google showing another title for your site in the search results.

Google’s generation of page title is completely automated. Google’s goal is to best represent and describe each result. They use a number of different sources to get this information. In doing so, they try to make the search results as relevant as possible. Due to this being handled on Google’s end, there is little you can do to force Google to display your preferred title.

We have an extensive knowledge base article which can help you understand why Google is showing the wrong title for your site. Please refer to this article for additional details.

So I understand that this is something that cannot be changed in template code and / or settings? correct?

And what about the second question I asked?

The names are based on the code used to create the post type or taxonomy. Yoast SEO does not include an option to change the name of the sitemap.
