99% of the times, the lightbox does not work because of a theme or another plugin that is loading jQuery incorrectly and is breaking my plugin’s Javascript. Try disabling other plugins and changing your theme to the default theme. Then, re-enable them one at a time until you find one that breaks the lightbox.
Hi DanCoulter,
I found that lightbox is not working because of my theme, so can you suggest some solution for that?
I am using builder theme.
Thanks,
Arpita
What was the solution? I figured out the theme I use prevents the lightbox from opening, but how do I change the theme so it does work? I’m using the Jooc theme for Buddypress.

99% of the time, it’s because the theme has included JavaScript without using the proper WordPress functions. This can cause the JavaScript that I’ve included properly to get wiped out or broken.

Hi Dan, I am in same situation, my theme is breaking the lightbox function, however it is weird to me because it was working fine before, and now it doesn’t. My URL is ljkrooker.com and I’m using Clean blog by mixey, I looked at your link above but really don’t understand, I am at very basic stage of WordPress use.. and could use some instructions. Any help much appreciated. Thanks
